Rock legends Blue Oyster Cult set to play month-long Disney festival

ROCK legends Blue Oyster Cult are going Disney – as the latest big name to be added to Garden Rocks, the live music sessions set to run all the way though March at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Aptly named Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma will lead the classic rock band, best known for the iconic Don’t Fear The Reaper, into action on March 19 and 20 during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut album Blue Oyster Cult but they’d been around since 1967 as Soft White Underbelly. Since then they’ve become real rock and roll legends.

It’s something of a coup for the family-friendly festival, which already features familiar faces including The Pointer Sisters, Living Colour, Simple Plan, Plain White Ts, The Commodores and Starship.

Watch out too for gigs by former members of Journey, ELO, The Eagles and Chicago on a bill that ranges from 1960s veterans Herman’s Hermits to new bands such as Grammy Award winners Switchfoot.

Head over to event website FreshEPCOT.com for the full line-up, with more acts being added seemingly every day.
