A MIDLANDS mansion is set to get a monster boost when Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated new Frankenstein movie makes its streaming debut on Netflix later this week.
Worldwide audiences will see historic Burghley House, in Lincolnshire, in a new light after its starring role in the Oscar-winning director’s take on the classic Mary Shelley story.

Some of the House’s most spectacular State Rooms, including the Great Hall, the Bow Room, and The Old Kitchen provided the backdrop for del Toro’s re-imagining of the Modern Prometheus.
Several scenes featured in the film, starring Oscar Isaac as Dr Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as The Monster, were shot at England’s finest Elizabethan house back in September 2024.
Written and directed by del Toro, the movie boasts an acclaimed cast that also includes Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery, Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz.
Anyone exploring Burghley House can discover the rooms featured in the film, and experience first-hand the centuries of history that have captured the imagination of film-makers and visitors alike.

One of the largest and grandest houses of the 16th century, Burghley combines magnificent architecture and atmospheric interiors, set within sweeping Capability Brown parkland.
The House is no stranger to filmgoers, and has previously appeared in movie and TV productions from The Flash, where it doubled as Batman’s Wayne Manor, to The Crown and Pride and Prejudice.
