HEAVY Metal legends Black Sabbath are playing the smallest gig of their lives as they prepare for this weekend’s star-studded reunion show at hometown Birmingham’s Villa Park football stadium.
The intimate show is also the band’s shortest ever. It’s all of SEVEN INCHES tall. Yes, you read that right. Seven inches.
That’s because the rock giants have been immortalised in LEGO bricks at the city’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. Well, immortal until they get taken apart to make something else, I guess.

The family fun attraction includes a scale Miniland model of Birmingham’s most famous landmarks such as The Rotunda, the NEC, Council House, Library and Town Hall.
A model of Villa Park – home of Aston Villa FC – is a particular favourite, with players that can be manoeuvred by visitors to simulate a Premier League football match.

Now, Sabbath stars Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward have appeared within the scaled-down stadium to celebrate their Saturday July 5 homecoming show.
“Black Sabbath are true Birmingham icons, and this felt like the perfect way to honour their final hometown show,” says Amy Langham, general manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham.

“Our master model builders had great fun bringing Ozzy and the band to life in LEGO form — and we hope it strikes a chord with Sabbath fans young and old.”
The band’s final farewell show will include guest performances from a host of big names including Metallica, Guns N’Roses, Slayer, Tool, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and RATM’s Tom Morello.
