COMEDY stars Vic Reeves and Jenny Eclair will be all at sea this year after signing up to sail on special ‘memorable moments’ cruises – although not in the roles you might necessarily expect.
Funnyman Vic will be setting sail under his real name, Jim Moir, and showcasing his skills as an artist, while Jenny will be writing short stories rather than performing stand-up comedy.
They’ll be joined by photographer Scarlet Page, daughter of Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page, who is renowned for her work with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams and The Darkness.
The three famous faces make up what Fred. Olsen Cruise Line is dubbing “the cruise industry’s first Moments Crew – a new service promising to capture guests’ most memorable onboard moments.”They’ll be sailing on select itineraries aboard the line’s Borealis, Balmoral and Bolette cruise ships.
Jim will put guests’ favourite scenic views on canvas, Jenny will turn memorable experiences into short stories, and Scarlet will capture photographs of moments, big and small, as they happen.

Jim, who will join a Norwegian fjords cruise on board Borealis, says: “Some of my happiest memories are from travelling, so I am looking forward to stepping onboard with my easel and paints and capturing guests’ favourite views for prosperity.”
The eight-night S2515 ‘Scenic Fjords and Falls of Norway’ cruise, departs from Dover on May 28.

Jenny, setting sail on a Baltic itinerary with Balmoral, says: “There is a rich literary history of travel writing, but my intention is to get the everyday holiday maker interested in keeping their own journals, even if it is just a record of what you had for dinner.
“In years to come, photos will take you back to places you loved, but it is often words on a page that will remind you of how those places felt.” She’ll join the 13-night L2514 ‘Fairytale Castles and Old Towns of the Baltic’ cruise, departing from Rosyth on June 27.

Scarlet, who will cruise on Bolette to the Azores and Madeira, says: “As a photographer of celebrities and rock stars, I’ve always loved capturing those rare, unguarded moments that reveal true emotion. I’m excited to bring this approach to documenting guests, creating images that reflect genuine joy, calm, and the wonder of shared experiences.”
Scarlet will be on the 13-night T2517 ‘Volcanic Vistas of the Azores and Madeira’ cruise, departing from Liverpool on July 25.
Bookings featuring the Moments Crew are available now but guests must enter a ballot for the artistic, writing and photography services of the trio in dedicated sessions onboard. For full itineraries and pricing, set course to the Fred. Olsen website.
