HAPPY Halloween! Horror movie fans have shivers down the spine today as Universal Orlando Resort shares a first peek preview of what promises to be, quite literally, a monster attraction.
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment will debut next Spring at Dark Universe, one of the five immersive zones coming to new theme park Universal Epic Universe.

Set to open on May 22, 2025, the ride will feature not just a nine foot-tall Frankenstein’s monster but also 13 other classic Universal monsters and characters from movies, books and legends.

The theme park today unveiled some of the animatronic monsters that will appear inside the attraction, describing them as “the most ambitious and life-like figures ever created”.

Because deep in Frankenstein Manor, in the creepy village of Darkmoor, other residents will include Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and many more.

There’ll also be meet and greets and photo ops with the legendary monsters alongside Ygor, the Invisible Man, and a monster hunter.
“Experience monstrous thrills and horror as you dare to step into the fog-shrouded depths of Dark Universe,” say park chiefs, who have released initial renderings of what’s in store.

“Encounter the unique residents of Darkmoor Village as you stroll the crumbling streets in a foreboding world of unearthly legends and monstrous experiments – a shadowy realm where myth and reality meet.”

Alongside Dark Universe, the other ‘worlds’ of the park will be The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Celestial Park, the latter a hub dubbed ‘the world between worlds’.
