IT’S Venice as you’ve never seen it before – the world’s most magical city with a sprinkling of Disney magic, thanks to a local tour guide’s AI art sessions.
Igor Scomparin, who leads tours through the Italian canal city, has been blending his real-life hometown with some Pixar flights of fancy, and the results are sensational.

“The idea is that Disney is a dream for all kids,” says Igor, who found worldwide fame during lockdown when he led live streamed virtual tours online for now defunct travel platform Heygo.
“And Venice, of course, is a big dream for many travellers. Putting reality and Disney Pixar together seemed a logical idea, and it turns to be a fantastic cocktail of emotions.”

The good news for Igor is that since the pandemic eased, tour guide business has picked up again and is now booming, with in-person tours on foot and by gondola in big demand.

The bad news for fans further afield is that the popular guide currently has no time to return to virtual touring, although he wishes former Heygo guides and Facebook friends well.

“I don’t know if I’ll continue with virtual tours,” he says. “This year Venice business went up a lot and I simply didn’t have time to keep up with everything – but wish all my friends a Merry Christmas!”

Igor made his eye-catching images using Microsoft’s Bing Image Creator software and plans to experiment more – if he can find the time between tours.
