THESE daredevils were just dropping in for the afternoon … The pictures popped up in my Facebook memories this week, prompting me to share them again in the blog.
They are members of the RAF Falcons parachute display team, and I snapped them as they were making a special appearance at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.

The occasion was the Battle Proms Picnic Concert staged in the grounds on August 17, 2015 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VJ Day, effectively the end of World War 2.
There was stirring music from the New English Concert Orchestra, featuring soprano Denise Leigh and cellist Jonathan Pether, and from nostalgia singing group Rockabellas.

But the undoubted star of the show was a flypast by Carolyn Grace, the world’s only practising female Spitfire pilot, to the strains of Edward Elgar’s Nimrod.
I’ve been to the Battle Proms several times over the years but sadly they aren’t visiting Ragley again this year.
