IT’S the splash hit water attraction for young thrill-seekers – a baby flume designed to introduce younger theme park fans to bigger ride excitement, all wrapped up in family-friendly fun.

Thomas & Percy’s Submarine Splash opens this Saturday, April 29, at Drayton Manor Resort’s Thomas Land. Boasting two mini drops, the ride helps celebrate the officially themed area’s 15th anniversary.

Visitors will board at Brendam Docks to help Thomas and Percy deliver the submarine to Vicarstown Museum, with help from Thomas’s good friend, Harold the Helicopter.

Owners of Drayton Manor Resort have long wanted something to bridge the gap between gentle kiddies’ rides and the bigger adrenaline attractions in the wider park, with a new family-friendly coaster, as yet un-named, set to open in 2024.

The new water ride is accordingly aimed at a younger audience. Children aged two and over, and at least 0.9m tall, can ride when accompanied by an adult. Those aged six and more, and who are at least 1.2m tall, can ride unaccompanied.

“The arrival of Thomas & Percy’s Submarine Splash ride is an exciting milestone for Thomas Land as it celebrates its 15th Anniversary,” says Victoria Lynn, Managing Director at Drayton Manor Resort.

“It will provide the opportunity for families to experience a thrilling flume together, featuring two mini drops on an exciting journey through the Island of Sodor.”

Thomas Land has welcomed more than 10 million visitors since opening in 2008, and boasts more than 25 rides and attractions alongside narrow gauge rail trips in carriages pulled by Thomas, Rosie and Percy, which have travelled a total of 4,350 miles.
