JUST how high will we reach? It’s the question on every football fan’s lips as they follow their heroes through the peaks and troughs of the season – but Liverpool FC has just taken it to a new level.
Because supporters can now ABSEIL one hundred feet down past the famous club crest on the 21,000-seater Main Stand at Anfield, after taking in panoramic views over the city from the top.
Launched by players Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota and Calvin Ramsay recently, the new attraction is one of many being showcased at this week’s British Tourism and Travel Show in Birmingham.
The show is staged annually to showcase new attractions and initiatives in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and this year comes as post-pandemic trade is growing fast.
The Abseil begins with a climb up the stairs to the top of the stand roof before you’re strapped into safety gear and lean back over the edge to begin your abseiling descent.
Prices are £48 for adults and £38 for those aged 10 to 17, and also include a souvenir wristband, and free admission to The Liverpool FC Story Museum (itself worth £10 for adults, £6 for children).
There’s a 10% discount for Season Ticket Holders and LFC Official Members, using a code available at the official website. The British Tourism & Travel Show at the NEC is trade and invitation only.
