THEY’RE cooking up a storm at sea. P&O Cruises’ portfolio of celebrity chefs have announced dates for food and drink inspired holidays they’ll be sailing on this year.
Marco Pierre White, Olly Smith, José Pizarro and Kjartan Skjelde – the line’s ‘Food Heroes’ – will join guests for demonstrations, talks and hosted dinners onboard Iona and Britannia.
White, an internationally renowned chef for over 30 years, will host masterclasses and dinners in The Cookery Club and has created innovative celebration night menus.

“Whether I’m designing menus for the Celebration Night or doing a cookery demonstration for guests, I know that it has to make a holiday truly magical and memorable,” he says.
“Classic dishes made with seasonal and local ingredients will always create a fantastic dining experience.”
He’ll be on a 14-night Med cruise on Britannia (B214) on May 29, then a seven-night Norwegian Fjords sailing on Iona (G223) on July 16, and Iona’s 14-night Spain & Portugal cruise (G238) on November 26.
Wine guru Olly Smith, who heads up The Glass House restaurant and bar on both ships will help guests choose wines from across the world, and has developed new wine tasting experiences.
“It’s a joy to help guests choose the perfect drink to enjoy after a day exploring a spectacular destination or to accompany José’s glorious tapas in The Glass House,” he says.
“There’s a wine out there for every palate and I love to give guests the opportunity to discover new grape varieties and styles for themselves.”
Olly will sail a 14-night Med cruise on Britannia on June 26 (B216), and a 14-night Canary Islands sailing on Iona (G234) on October 8.
Jose Pizarro – originally from Cáceres, Spain – uses fresh, seasonal ingredients to showcase Spanish cuisine, and has created a bespoke tapas menu in The Glass House, plus street food dishes for Taste 360.
Catch him on Iona’s 14-night Canary Islands cruise (G237) on November 12.
Meanwhile, Kjartan Skjelde – founder of two restaurants in Stavanger, a judge on MasterChef Norway, and host of his own cooking show – has created a six-course taster menu exclusively for Epicurean on Iona.
He’ll be sailing seven-night Norwegian Fjords sailings on Iona on May 7 (G213) and again on May 21 (G215).
