FANS of family-friendly Pixar movies now have their own ‘land’ at Disneyland Paris, featuring all their favourite characters.
A re-theming of parts of the park has resulted in the new ‘Worlds of Pixar’ zone, drawing together new and existing attractions.
The arrival of Cars Road Trip – a reworking of the former Backlot Tour which I wrote about here – had already just boosted park Pixar power.
Now, the new zone boasts seven attractions also including signature rides such as Crush’s Coaster and the fiendishly clever Ratatouille: The Adventure – one of Disney’s best.
And that’s not all.
A revamp of the former Toon Studio includes Pixar meet-and-greets, new photo opp backdrops, plus themed dining at Bistrot Chez Remy and the new Laugh ‘n’ Go! food truck by Cars Road Trip.
Guests will be able to take selfies with Pixar characters, and soon sight favourites such as Lightning McQueen and The Incredibles roaming around.
There are new Pixar-inspired decorations, merchandise kiosks, snacks and sweets, exclusive Worlds of Pixar donuts and cupcakes at four food kiosks.
The Pixar rebranding comes hot on the heels of a re-imagining of the popular Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast ride, which now boasts a state of the art light show frontage.
It involved replacing all the existing neon lights with LEDs and installing glass plasma “Crackles Tubes” on the five columns of the attraction’s façade.
Repositioning Toon Studio and naming Worlds of Pixar is part of the ongoing Walt Disney Studios Park transformation.
It represents a move towards what will eventually be four core zones in the park, as development continues on new themed areas starting with Marvel’s Avengers Campus.
I previously reported on the Marvel makeover of the former Hotel New York, and other park plans here.
