Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser hotel: watch first TV ad

HERE’S the first look at the new TV ad for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser hotel that promises to be out of this world.

Two day, two night breaks at the 100-cabin hotel, sited at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, are due to start in 2022.

Breaks promise to be “part live immersive theatre, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza and part real-life role-playing game”.

The interactive action will take part both in the hotel and out in Batuu, the outpost at the heart of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park.

It won’t be cheap. The starting rate for two adults in a standard room is said to be US$4,809 (that’s £3,452 for Brits), which includes food and soft drinks, plus entry to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, home of Galaxy’s Edge.

But, as the ad suggests, there’s nothing quite like it in the galaxy.

The Galactic Starcruiser is peopled by all manner of Star Wars characters and creatures as stories are acted out around, and including, guests.

As previously reported here, the adventure begins at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal, where you enter a launch pod and head out into space.

A dining experience will certainly be different – you never know who you might bump into while sipping a bubbling beverage.

Sleeping berths are reminiscent of bunks inside the main hold of the Millennium Falcon, and check out those Jedi robes!

Meanwhile, here’s a conversation with Disney Imagineers about the project.

The 30-second commercial is a taster of what’s in store. For more information, head to www.starwarsgalacticstarcruiser.com.
